a Goossun Art-illery workshop

Pre-expressivity & scenic presence

23rd - 24th July 2008

A two-day workshop for performers (actors and dancers) to strengthen essential physical and vocal techniques of the performer, based on the notion of pre-expressivity developed by Eugenio Barba and the Odin Theatre at ISTA, International School of Theater Anthropology.

Pre-expressivity is the focal point of Theatre Anthropology that studies the scenic behavior of performer in an organized performance situation. It scrutinizes the recurring principles of performer’s extra-daily techniques, which are common in all genres and styles.

In this workshop the participants will be practically introduced to these techniques through exercises.

  1. All participants will be asked to fully memorize a short text, preferably in their own mother tongue, which will be used for exercises.

  1. Please remember to bring comfortable training clothing.
