PRE-EXPRESSIVITY & SCENIC PRESENCE

A three-day workshop for performers (actors and dancers) to strengthen essential physical and vocal techniques of the performer, based on the notion of pre-expressivity developed by Eugenio Barba and the Odin Theatre at ISTA, International School of Theatre Anthropology.

Pre-expressivity is the focal point of Theatre Anthropology that studies the scenic behavior of performer in an organized performance situation. It scrutinizes the recurring principles of performer's extra-daily technique, which are common in all genres and styles.

In this workshop the participants will be practically introduced to these techniques through exercise.

  1. All participants will be asked to fully memorize a short text, preferably in their own mother tongue, which will be used for exercises.

  1. Please remember to bring comfortable training clothing.
